Over 500 patients are expected to benefit from a four-day free cataract Eye surgery exercise launched in central Somali town of Beledweyne, Hiran region, by a local aid agency, Al-Rayaan. Over 500 patients are expected to benefit from a four-day free cataract Eye surgery exercise launched in central Somali town of Beledweyne, Hiran region, by a local aid agency, Al-Rayaan.

The exercise which kicked off on Saturday has attracted hundreds of persons with eyesight problem form various part of the region.

Local officials say some 200 patients have been operated on since the beginning of the exercise.

They say patients from as far as Somali inhabited Ethiopian region were among the beneficiaries of the exercise
